Caroline Pham, Commissioner of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), believes that the path to clarity in crypto regulation in the United States was paved after Ripple's partial victory.

Speaking on Bloomberg TV on July 17, Commissioner Pham said that recent major court decisions regarding the classification of crypto assets will ultimately lead to regulatory clarification.

"You know, last year I said we were going to see regulatory clarity first in the courts around the definition of a title, and I think we've seen that with very great court opinions that have been published."

Pham said she looks forward to participating in regulatory task forces and hopes other U.S. regulators, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, will work together to deliver a "holistic approach" to regulation of cryptography.

Pham's comments come days after San Francisco-based fintech firm Ripple won a key partial victory in an ongoing court battle in which the SEC accused it of selling unregistered securities.

Judge Analisa Torres of the Southern District of New York ruled on July 14 that XRP is not a security when sold to retail investors on digital asset exchanges.
