Actress Anjana Vasan has a lot in common with her character Amina in We Are Lady Parts.

Both refuse to please people, both say no when necessary, and both have elements no negotiable.

Vasan, 37, told BBC News that just like Amina, she is now in her "villain era".

< p class="ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10">Her character is the unlikely lead guitarist of an all-female punk band and in the second season of the Channel 4 comedy written and created by Nida Manzoor, we see her and her group mates, face a set of new challenges.

"This season is all about girl power: we don't have to always apologize and be very polite, but we can just be free to be whoever we want to be," Vasan explains.

She says the series has been one of the best things she's worked on because "the The brotherhood in the show is also strong in real life." to spend time with each other, so it's a lot of fun on set."

Vasan's co-star Juliette Motamed, who plays pragmatic drummer Ayesha, says she "didn't realize you weren't actually supposed to be friends with your cast". "Lady Parts was my first acting role, so in roles I then thought it was normal to want to hang out with the rest of the cast. I quickly realized that was not the case and now I'm even more grateful that we have this to show."
