Why APC will dethrone PDP in Benue, by Rijau

The National Vice President of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Central North, Muazu Rijau, has expressed his optimism that Benue State will be won in general elections next year. He also noted that the party needed unity and support for its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Rijau told APC stakeholders yesterday at an interactive meeting in Makurdi that all they needed was to work hard and recover the state from the other side that was struggling to find peace and resolve disagreements within it.

The former Niger State Public Works Commissioner revealed that the APC National Working Committee (CTN) had asked him to tour the area to encourage and feel the pulse of members towards the general elections of 2023.

He assured that the NWC would persuade members, who have taken legal action against the party, to withdraw them in the interest of peace.

Rijau said, "We are here on a mission to reclaim and retain our tenure in Benue. I would like to congratulate Benue APC for making the right choice in Rev. Hyacinth Alia as your gubernatorial candidate."< /p>

He noted that with the caliber of people in the party, there is no way Benue will not return to the APC, pointing out that the crisis within the rival party has made things easier for the opposition in the state.

The national vice president maintained that the only thing expected of APC stakeholders in the state is a united front, even as he pleaded with aggrieved party members to see the big picture.

Earlier, APC State Chairman Austin Agada remarked that the party has already decided to work hard to regain power and develop the state, which is in a deplorable state.

The Guardian reports that no less than three APC gubernatorial hopefuls in the state are in court challenging the conduct of the nomination process in which the father. Alia emerged as a standard bearer.

Among the aggrieved gubernatorial aspirants are former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), National President Barnabas Gemade, former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Chief Michael Aondoakaa, and Professor Terhemba Shija.
