Football fans clashed with riot police in France after Les Bleus progressed to their second consecutive World Cup final on Wednesday night. France beat Morocco 2-0 in their semi-final in Qatar, leading to passionate mass celebrations in the nation's capital.

At least 2,500 police are believed to be stationed on the Champs-Élysées in Paris after anticipating violent clashes between French and Moroccan fans after their World Cup match. Thousands of fans were filmed jumping around and shouting, "We're going to the final!" after goals from Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani either side of half-time secured a memorable win at Al Bayt Stadium.
