World Cup: Joe Cole chooses the best English stars to beat Senegal on Sunday

Former Chelsea striker Joe Cole has asked England manager Gareth Southgate to reinstate midfielder Mason Mount in the England squad for their knockout clash against Senegal.

Joe Cole believes the Chelsea midfielder should replace Liverpool's Jordan Henderson alongside Gareth Southgate.

After appearing in England's first and second group stage games, Mount was dropped for the match against Wales with Henderson entrenched in midfield in the 3-0 win.

Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, Phil Foden and Kyle Walker of Man City were also part of Southgate's squad.

Cole says Southgate can keep Rashford, Walker and Foden in the starting XI but should drop Henderson.

"In midfield, I would bring Mason Mount back to the Senegal team instead of Jordan Henderson," he told the Telegraph

"In attack, I would stay with Phil Foden on the right side entering on his left foot. His connection with Walker is strong.

"On the left side, I would stay with Marcus Rashford.

"Alongside Kane and Foden, Rashford sets that pace for the top three."
