Burnley striker Wout Weghorst is set to undergo a medical with Manchester United after Besiktas gave him permission to terminate his loan deal, according to 90min. Former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners United are working out the final details of Weghorst's contract and could confirm the signing of the 30-year-old Dutch international midfielder by the weekend.
Weghorst joined Turkish giants Besiktas on loan from Championship club Burnley in the summer of 2022. Besiktas accepted that the 30-year-old wanted to leave them and return to England, and they decided to not to make it difficult.
Manchester United are currently fourth in the Premier League table with 35 points from 17 games, nine behind leaders Arsenal. Meanwhile, Burnley currently sit top of the Championship table with 56 points from 26 appearances, five points ahead of second-placed Sheffield United.
