Yewa monarchs support Abiodun's candidacy for a second term

The monarchs of Yewaland have declared their support for the candidacy of the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, in 2023. The Olu of Ilaro and the supreme ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, who said on behalf of the council at the 70th birthday ceremony of a renowned businessman, Alhaji Akeem Adigun, in Lagos this weekend, said the monarchs of Ogun West were united and solidly behind the emergence of the governor for a second term in 2023.

Oba Olugbenle noted that "the case is closed" regarding the upcoming general elections in the state, adding that "everyone who has not yet come to terms with reality will soon do so."

The monarch, who also praised the governor's humble nature and love for the people of Yewaland, assured him of the full support of all the sons and daughters of Yewaland.

Earlier in his remarks, Abiodun described the celebrant as an embodiment of humility, who he said is very focused, calm and never stops to help those in need.

Abiodun, while appreciating the celebrant for supporting the emergence of his administration in 2019, noted that the celebrant is still solidly behind his administration.

The monarch Yewa, who acknowledged the governor's decision to appoint the celebrant as a board member of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, expressed confidence that the celebrant and others from Yewaland would add more value to the institutions in which they were appointed.

The Olu of Ilaro said: "In the Yewa Traditional Council, we no longer have a fight going on for a candidate for governor, a member of the House of Representatives or the Senate. The file is closed as far as we are concerned.

"We thank you for the love you have for us at Ogun West. I want to assure you that our sons and daughters are firmly behind you, fear not.

“Your Excellency, be calm because all those who have not yet understood and faced reality will soon understand. Some of us understand perfectly and we would give you this resounding victory thanks to our votes.”
