10 Lessons Every Entrepreneur Should Learn About Being a Great Leader

The end of a year is often a time of reflection and awareness, with many people taking the time to review both what went right and what went wrong, as well what they can do to improve over the next 365 years. days. For leaders, this can be a time to reflect on their own leadership style, strengths and weaknesses.

Over the past year, members of the Young Entrepreneur Council have learned a lot about being great leaders and what it means to lead others. Below, they share 10 of the lessons they learned and why they think these are important lessons every entrepreneur can learn from.

1. Put the right people in the right place with the right tools

Understand that hardly anyone will work as hard as you for your business. Therefore, to be a great leader, you need to put the right resources and people in place and provide them with guidance, support, and the tools to succeed. When I was able to implement this strategy, I didn't care so much about the smallest details because I had the right people to handle these things. This allowed me to spend the majority of my time growing the business, creating new revenue streams, and focusing on activities that would benefit the overall health of the business. Remember this: Not everyone wants to be an entrepreneur. So we all need to have people to manage aspects of the business to enable us to be great leaders. - Philip Smith, PJP Marketing

2. Communicate well to get through difficult times

Leadership is not easy. It takes a lot of knowledge and experience to be a good leader. To be an effective leader, one must not only possess a wealth of knowledge and experience, but also be able to communicate effectively with his followers. Over the past year, despite restructuring and changing business objectives, we have managed to maintain a positive attitude and high morale among team members, which has helped maintain high productivity. Good communication is key to building a solid relationship with your followers. It helps them understand what you're trying to achieve and why you make the decisions you make. It also helps them feel part of the team and that their thoughts and opinions matter. - Noble Inasu, Rainbow Aluminum & Powder Coating Co. LLC

3. Prioritize personal connection

We are still working remotely and will continue to work remotely for the foreseeable future. One thing I've learned over the past year is the importance of creating personal time with the team. It's easy for anyone to feel disconnected when working entirely through video chats. Team summits and one-on-ones, while virtual, are actually vital. They help develop that valuable and essential personal bond between team members, yourself and the organization. - Javon Frazier
