It takes courage to be you. It takes courage to be strong when God and His Word guide you…
When no one understands. When people misinterpret your actions. When God impresses something on your heart. When you let your guard down. It takes courage.
Be fully extroverted. Be fully introverted. Take the time to pursue a hobby. To speak. To stay calm.
It takes courage.
See things that others can’t see. To see what others can see. To encourage others, even to the point of seeming like you care too much. Staying strong in God’s calling even when it seems like you care too little for others.
It takes courage.
Staying true to God’s Word, even when culture takes a different path. Worship with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul and with all your strength. Be passionate. Loving so deeply is risky. Not speaking because you know God is not calling you to.
It takes courage.
To be who God created you to be, even when it seems strange, even when you stand out, even when you feel like you should fit in, or be like others, or look like others… it takes courage.
To speak. Get up. Sit. To do everything possible. Hold back. Give. To take. Learn.
To move as Jesus moved means that man will not always understand. Loving as Jesus loved will seem sumptuous – and too much so. Praying as Jesus prayed can feel isolating and sequestering for some. Healing as Jesus healed may be judged by some as not being real for today. Giving one’s life can be interpreted as stupidity, waste or a wasted life.
So what?
Who do you live for: a man or God? And how are you going to live your life? As a courageous or fearful person?
“For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid, but gives us power and love and self-discipline. » (2 Tim. 1:7 NIV)
“Am I now trying to gain the approval of human beings or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:10 NIV)
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, that we may do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Eph. 2:10 NLT)
