Val Kilmer the filmography is full of great films, and here are the best currently available on Paramount+. From his hilarious debut in the 1984 spoof comedy Top secret! to his last moving appearance in Top Gun: Maverickthe late, great Val Kilmer could always be counted on to bring something dynamic or interesting to any project.
The best Val Kilmer Movies usually come from the 1990s, where he had an incredible run of back-to-back gems. Kilmer’s performance in Tombstone I should have won him an Oscarwhile Heat is considered one of the greatest crime dramas ever produced.
Sure, Kilmer’s resume had its fair share of duds, but he could always be counted on to do something unique. In the barely seen Polish western summer lovefor example, Kilmer signed on just for the challenge of playing a corpse throughout the film.. For those who want to revisit Kilmer’s work, Paramount+ offers three of his most famous films.
Top Gun (1986)
Top Gun “Iceman” was only Kilmer’s third film rolebut it has become one of his emblematic characters. Of course, the film also made Tom Cruise a movie star, with the story following Cruise’s literal “Maverick” pilot as he trains for the titular Navy program.
From Tony Scott’s clever camerawork and editing to the incredible casting and quotable dialogue, there is little about Top Gun it doesn’t work. This is blockbuster entertainment at its finest, with Scott letting his actors cook while he makes them all look amazing.
Iceman may not be the deepest character, but Kilmer brings an incredible amount of charm and charisma to the role. Kilmer is a perfect training partner for Cruisewhere the two characters are total opposites and nevertheless manage to convince each other. Their reunion at Top Gun: Maverick is also the perfect complement to their old rivalry.
Heat (1995)
There is little to say about The heat a greatness that has not yet been written before. This Film by Michael Mann is about as perfect as a thriller can be. It has a level of reality and research that seemed incredibly new at the time, it has an incredible cast (Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Tom Sizemore, etc.) and the action scenes are incredibly visceral.
Val Kilmer’s reloading technique during The heat The bank robbery is considered so perfect that the clip is used in military training as an example of how to do it right.
This says a lot about Kilmer’s talent, because The heat third leader, he does not let himself be thrown off the screen by Pacino and De Niro. Kilmer’s Chris is a man of contradictions; a loving husband and father who is also an irresponsible gambler and action junkie. Even though Chris survives, he meets one of the most tragic endings. in the film.
Batman Forever (1995)
Kilmer once compared donning Batman forever He experienced sudden old age: he could no longer move, hear or speak and needed help to go to the toilet. Batsuit struggles didn’t stop Kilmer from putting in a great performance as Bruce Wayne And Batman in Joel Schumacher’s delightfully maximalist comedy blockbuster.
There are many problems with Batman forever: Jim Carrey’s performance at 11 can be irritating, and the film’s humor can be downright obnoxious. Always, There’s a nostalgic charm to this neon-infused action epic, which was about as big as blockbuster entertainment got in 1995. He also remains one of Val Kilmer most famous roles.
