Habitify allows you to create good habits and break bad ones. Good habits include things like meditating, reading, running, and journaling, while bad habits include smoking, overeating, nail biting, and spending too much time in front of a screen. The app offers a range of presets, but it’s also possible to create your own personalized habit by entering details manually or using AI prompts.
Finding effective habits requires some self-reflection. Think about the areas of your life that could use a little attention. It can be about health, fitness, mind, mood, career or studies. Either way, make sure you’re committed to doing something before you start.
Once you have your habits defined, it’s time to add them to specific “areas.” This is one of the most innovative and useful parts of the Habitify app. Zones can relate to times of day, like morning, afternoon, or evening, but can also focus around specific locations like the gym, pool, or morning walk to work. By grouping related habits together, you’ll know exactly which habits you need to focus on at different times of the day or when you’re in specific locations. It also helps keep your habits list decluttered.
Stay motivated
When you’ve completed a habit, it’s time to implement it. This is one of the most satisfying parts of the whole process because your body releases dopamine, which is a key part of the brain’s reward system. This boosts motivation and provides a rush of pleasure when a goal is achieved.
Habits can be implemented quickly using swipes, with a swipe left saving the habit as completed and a swipe right opening up other options, including the ability to add a note. It is also possible to add integrations with platforms like Apple Health, Fitbit and Strava. These connections allow Habitify to automatically mark habits when they have been tracked as completed by the associated health device.
To help you progress, Habitify offers streak reporting so you can see which of your habits are moving in the right direction and which are stalled. There are also graphs and statistics that allow you to analyze each specific habit.
Another way to stay motivated is to connect with friends through the app. This might mean creating a circle of running buddies or like-minded friends who want to hold each other accountable for their eating habits. The “Friends” tab allows you to share your progress, offer encouragement, and achieve your goals with others.
It’s time to start
If you want to jump on the habit tracking bandwagon, I recommend starting small. Your first step should be so easy that you can’t say no. Two-minute habits are a fantastic place to start. Then it’s about showing up every day, which is achievable if you’ve chosen small daily actions rather than big, unachievable goals. And finally, be patient. Lasting change doesn’t happen overnight.
Habitify offers free and premium plans. The free version has very limited functionality with a maximum of three habits and no integration or advanced reminders. Premium, on the other hand, offers full functionality with unlimited habits and full integration.
