Big riga road-raging 18-wheel Mack truck demon slayer, is a comic strip co-written by Post Malone And Adrien Wassel which debuted in July 2025. It crushed the competition and was indeed a runaway success; and now it’s getting even bigger with the director Michael Bay develop the story into an adapted feature film via its production company, Platinum Dunes.
THE popular comic was the music superstar’s first venture into comics. Malone presented it to the editor Comics from the Vault and co-founder/editor-in-chief Adrian Wassel (who previously worked on titles such as Iron Man And Alien Bounty Hunter). He noted that in isolation (without Malone’s fame attached to it), the story was remarkable, totally unique and one that needed to be shared with the world.
From pages and panels to the big screen
Post Malone gets the Michael Bay treatment
Described as Mad Max Fury Route encounter Evil deathour hero named “Trucker” and once a former priest, was suddenly assigned this blessed “hell eraser” of a vehicle. Set in medieval Europe amid a post-apocalyptic demon infestation, Trucker finds himself battling the underlings of the ungodly with this massive mega truck armed to the teeth with machine guns and modern weaponry. His motley crew, who also aid him in his quest for safety and sanctuary, is a witch named Edda – a brave and intelligent girl who seeks revenge on Lucifer herself (yes, she’s a woman – and a generous mistress of the damned); and Batu, a fierce warrior who acts as Edda’s guardian and protector.
With the high-octane tone of this comic, naturally, the panels and pages were only the beginning of Malone and Wassel’s journey. The genesis of the connection between all parties was thanks to FJ DeSanto (head of television and film at Vault Comics) – and the rest, as they say, is history. “I’m beyond excited for Michael Bay to bring Big Rig to the big screen. After all, he knows a thing or two about making blockbuster movies with a badass truck as the main character,” adds Wassel in an exclusive message to ScreenRant. It references Bay’s work on action films such as Bad boys, Transformers, ArmageddonAnd 6 Underground, just to name a few.

Wassel adds that the film is currently in pre-production. Although the studio will coordinate with Vault Comics so that it can provide updates to passionate fans who can’t wait to watch this. In the meantime, the “hells on wheels” saga continues as Post and Adrian announced that Big Rig 2: Damned, issue 1 (the second arc) should go on sale in August 2026.
