Other allegations in the filing allege that Busfield “begged the family not to report to law enforcement if he was in therapy,” with the girl’s father, described as “a therapist himself,” believing at the time that therapy was the appropriate response.

However, Busfield’s lawyers presented statements from another actor at the theater, Matthew Moore, which they say undermine the credibility of the prosecution.

Fallout Spreads to Hollywood and Busfield’s Career

According to court documents, Moore recalls a conversation with the alleged victim’s father that painted a disturbing picture of competing motivations.

The father allegedly told Moore, “They’re going to love it because Tim Busfield is going to introduce it to them, which I’m sure he will because he’s going to need it if he thinks he’s going to fuck my daughter.”

When Moore asked why the father thought Busfield was interested in his daughter, the answer was reportedly straightforward: “Because she’s a real girl.”

Busfield’s legal documents argue that these remarks suggest an attempt to take advantage of the situation to advance his career.

As the legal drama unfolds, the professional consequences for Timothy Busfield have intensified. Amazon MGM has removed him from the upcoming romantic comedy “You Deserve Each Other.” The film, which stars Penn Badgley, Justin Long and Kyle MacLachlan, completed production before the allegations became public.
