“TODAY” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie visited the set of the NBC morning show Thursday as the investigation into the disappearance of her 84-year-old mother stretched into a 32nd day.
“Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to hang out with and thank her ‘TODAY’ colleagues,” a ‘TODAY’ spokesperson said in a statement.
“While she plans to return to the show, right now she remains focused on supporting her family and working to help Nancy come home,” the spokesperson added.
Guthrie was reported missing on February 1 after she failed to show up at a friend’s house in Tucson to watch a church service online. She was last seen the previous night around 9:45 p.m. after having dinner at her daughter Annie Guthrie’s house.
Authorities have described the case as a possible kidnapping or abduction, but clues are scant.
The Guthrie family is offering a $1 million reward for Guthrie’s recovery.
In announcing the award on February 24, Savannah Guthrie said that while her family believes her mother “can come home,” they also “know she may be lost” and may be “already gone.”
The FBI recovered doorbell camera footage of an armed, masked man outside Guthrie’s home the morning of his disappearance. Investigators have since called that person a suspect, but he has not been publicly identified.
The FBI said it was looking for a man between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. In the doorbell camera footage, he was carrying a black 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.
