China sanctions US tech giants weeks after Pentagon blacklists Chinese companies

China’s Commerce Ministry imposed sanctions on 10 U.S. technology companies on Monday, preventing them from exporting “dual-use” items, which have military and non-military applications, to the United States. Companies banned from doing business with the United States include drone manufacturers and some involved in the rare earths sector. Beijing’s move comes weeks after the Pentagon imposed similar restrictions on Chinese companies.
