Ford Motor Company ranks among the “the most American” mark in the country, earning top marks from both Democrats and Republicans while leading in every major income bracket, according to a new survey.
The February Morning Consult survey of more than 11,000 American adults, “America at 250: What the Nation Believes,” found that iconic car manufacturer ranks first, regardless of political affiliation or income.
Among Republicans, 21% named Ford as the most American brand, far ahead of Coca-Cola at 13%, McDonald’s at 11% and Harley-Davidson at 9%.
Democrats also put Ford in the lead, with 16% choosing the automaker. McDonald’s followed at 14%, Coca-Cola at 12% and Walmart at 10%.

Ford’s strength also extended to income levels, the survey found.
Among Americans earning less than $50,000 a year, 17% chose Ford, compared to 14% for Ford. McDonald’s and 11% each for Coca-Cola and Walmart.
In the $50,000 to $100,000 range, Ford again ranked first with 17 percent, narrowly edging out Coca-Cola with 16 percent. McDonald’s followed with 14%, Levi’s ranked fourth with 7%.
For those earning $100,000 or more, Ford widened its lead to 19%, followed by Coca-Cola at 15%, Apple at 10% and McDonald’s at 9%.

In a statement to FOX Business, Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford said the company’s reputation reflects its long-standing role in shaping the U.S. economy.
“As America’s 250th birthday approaches, I am proud this Ford has helped make this country stronger, not only by building great vehicles, but by expanding opportunity and improving people’s lives,” Bill Ford said in an email to FOX Business.
He pointed to the company’s founding in 1903 by Henry Ford, whose assembly-line innovations and introduction of the $5-a-day wage expanded economic opportunities for American workers.

Bill Ford also cited the the role of the company supporting the nation during World War I and World War II and its ability to withstand economic downturns.

“That resilience and willingness to get back up and keep swinging reflects the best of America,” Bill Ford said.
“As we look ahead to the next 250 years, I believe the future is incredibly bright, but it depends on our unity as a nation. We must heal our divisions and continue to move forward, as we always have. Ford will be there, serving the nation and helping us build a stronger future.”
