The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5’s source material, Resurrection Walk, features a major betrayal, and it’s the Harry Bosch crossover that the series is missing. Anyone who is a fan of both The Lincoln Lawyer The TV show and book need to come to terms with the fact that we will never have a Bosch crossover. It’s sad. I wish we could see Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Titus Welliver in action together.
However, the show is and always will be Harry Bosch is missing. Netflix simply doesn’t own the rights to the character, and it’s not like its competitor, Prime Video, is just going to abandon him. Bosch is currently in the casting of Ballard spin-off. Over the past four seasons, The Lincoln Lawyer functionally replaced him with other characters.
The Lincoln LawyerThe new permanent replacement from BoschEmi Finch, can do a lot to help fill in the gaps in Season 5. She will serve as the catalyst for Mickey to take on the main case of the season. Plus, she’ll complicate things for Mickey in the family department, much like Bosch did when he first appeared in the books. However, things will still be different.
Namely, they’ll have to cut out some of Bosch’s most emotional moments. One of the most moving scenes in Resurrection MarchMaggie’s betrayal in the courtroom, it won’t happen without Titus Welliver’s version of Harry Bosch. If they keep the scene, his absence will be felt more than ever.
Maggie’s Betrayal Is the Most Shocking and Infuriating Moment of Resurrection March
Before the start of The story of the Resurrection MarchMickey and Maggie broke up, so she’s not in the book much. When she appears, she absolutely betrays Mickey in the most shocking and cruel way.
Mickey and Maggie have already clashed on opposite sides of the courtroom. They are both good at their jobs and they will never go easy on each other. However, Maggie has never stooped as low as she does when she uses Harry Bosch’s private medical information, which she learned at a family dinner, to try to discredit him.
She only knew about this treatment because Mickey was talking to her family about supporting Bosch in his cancer treatment. It was not a public record. It wasn’t discovery. It was private and shared from a place of trust.
In all books up to Resurrection MarchI have never been anti-Maggie McPherson. I thought Mickey and Maggie were better as friends and co-parents than as a couple, but Maggie was fine. It completely changed at that point. It’s one thing to use publicly available knowledge against Bosch. It’s another to use his cancer treatment against him.
Maggie goes so far as to imply that he’s crazy and can’t be trusted. She uses a crime report that suggests Bosch made up a break-in to suggest Bosch was cognitively impaired, and she doesn’t even give him the chance to explain why he was confused. This is absolutely despicable behavior.
This moment would have been perfect for a Harry Bosch crossover because the character works as a private detective. They foreshadowed his cancer diagnosis, but they haven’t pulled the trigger yet. The Lincoln Lawyer would have been a good place to do it. Plus, Titus Welliver could absolutely handle an emotionally taxing character scene like this.
How Maggie’s Betrayal Could Work Without Harry Bosch
The moment when Maggie betrays Mickey and Harry is one of the greatest “bomb-dropping” moments in history. Resurrection March. However, it’s hard to imagine them making the scene work without Harry Bosch. They would need another person working on the case to undergo medical treatment that could impair their mental faculties.
It would be way too much to introduce Emi and reveal that she has cancer in just one season. The Lincoln Lawyer. We don’t even know her yet. In theory, her having cancer would be sad, because anyone with cancer would be sad. However, we do not have the necessary foundations for this to be truly effective.
They could potentially cause Cisco to get cancer, since he is an investigator for Mickey. It’s probably The Lincoln LawyerThis is the best option. Functionally, this change to the story would serve the same purpose. Cisco’s research would be called into question because of his treatment. However, it wouldn’t have as much impact if Maggie brings up the cancer in court because they aren’t friends or family.
Lorna having cancer wouldn’t have much impact since she’s a lawyer, not an investigator. The only other major options are Izzy and her girlfriend, Grace, who helped Mickey with his latest case. I don’t know if it would really have an impact if Maggie went after any of them, since she doesn’t have a close relationship with any of these women.
There is no logical solution to this problem. The only people in this group that she is close to are Lorna and Mickey. The betrayal should be directed at one of them or at Emi, and neither makes sense for the series. In truth, I think the best choice would be to remove the scene entirely. Unfortunately, it also means losing one of the most defining moments in history. Resurrection March.
Maggie’s betrayal of Mickey in court shows their problems run deep
Maggie’s betrayal of Mickey and Bosch in Resurrection March proves that their problems are much deeper than they seem. There is a philosophical difference between them. Mickey is a defense attorney and Maggie is a prosecutor. Mickey is willing to act shady, but he has a moral line. Maggie likes to act like she’s better than him because she’s on the “right” side of the law.
However, the betrayal Resurrection March shows that she is not as good a person as she thinks. His holier-than-thou attitude is completely unjustified. At least Mickey is upfront about bending the law, and he has boundaries he won’t cross. She literally uses a family member’s medical information against him, then justifies this action via text message.
Maggie and Mickey getting back together in S5 wouldn’t seem deserved based on the book
I’ve never felt particularly strong about Mickey’s love life, but for the first time since the show began, I would absolutely be upset if Mickey and Maggie got back together. The Lincoln Lawyer season 5. These two could have finished The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 on good terms, but it wouldn’t be right for them to start a relationship in season 5 based on the books. Mickey is a family man. He would never accept Maggie turning against his family like this. Even if they eliminated Maggie’s betrayal The Lincoln Lawyer In the TV show, all of us who read the book would know that their relationship was unearned.
