The former “Euphoria” star spilled the tea on a cosmetic trend that she greatly fears but will later follow. She has already made headlines for her body transformation, channeled through exceptional weight loss and the burden of maintaining a certain appearance as a woman in the industry.
Barbie Ferreira left her role as Kat Hernandez from the hit HBO series after appearing in two seasons. Since then, the model has continued to work on other major projects, furthering her on-screen career.

Ferreira spoke with Owen Thiele for an episode of his podcast “In Your Dreams,” where she pulled back the curtains on a cosmetic procedure she’s really afraid to undergo.
Surprisingly, he’s not the one demanding the model go under the knife, and his fear comes not from the dynamics of the procedure itself, but rather its consequences.
She revealed that although she felt uneasy about getting Botox, a popular injectable, she didn’t throw in the towel until she got it one day. She says that because of her acting career and the need to have her emotions at hand at work, she wants to have an expressive face for now.
“I haven’t had Botox yet because I have to express a face, and I’m really afraid of going down that path. It will happen eventually,” she explained before declaring: “I’m the most expressive person ever, I’m really afraid of that.”
Continuing the conversation, the 29-year-old actress shared the alternative beauty treatment procedures she underwent. Ferreira revealed that she liked to do a lot of lasers, like Potenza, and that at 23 she tried Morpheus 8.
The actress said that looking back, she realizes that making Morphesus 8 at that young age was “crazy.” She remembers the treatment being so intense that she was offered laughing gas and ketamine during the procedure, but she refused.

In a previous interview, Ferreira said that her weight and changing body shape were sensitive topics for her and that she didn’t like being asked questions about it. This happened after she posed in satin bras for her cover story on Bustle. The model revealed that weight fluctuations are a normal thing in her family.
“I started modeling at 16 and have had a different look every year for over a decade. It’s very fashionable right now to talk about women’s bodies, which is exactly why I personally don’t talk about it,” noted the former Euphoria star.
She further pointed out that she was well aware of the swirling discourse about her appearance, with other women calling it a “losing game.”
“If we’re too short or too big, we lose. We’re human beings who fluctuate. I gain weight, I lose weight; it’s just my life,” Ferreira explained before expressing that she didn’t realize people would be so hyper obsessed with her weight and body changes.
The Daily Mail reports that the “Mile End Kicks” star also said that her weight was a topic on everyone’s lips from her early days as a teenager.
The former Euphoria star has been called an activist
The model recalled during the same interview that she started talking about body positivity because she had to, even though she wasn’t an adult at the time. Ferreira clarified that the activist label was unintentionally slapped on her back because she “didn’t even know what activism meant.”
“I put on a bikini for a campaign, everyone got angry and suddenly I became an activist,” said the actress. Thinking back to the 17-year-old girl who just became an activist because of outside influence, Ferreira realizes that true activism is dedicating one’s life to a cause.
The Blast reported that the TV personality admitted that even when people give positive feedback about one’s appearance, it often comes with an underlying pressure to maintain that body shape or appearance. Over time, people develop unhealthy eating habits in their struggle to maintain their appearance.
The former HBO star shared that the public attention paid to her body makes her feel like a cross to bear, and while she thinks some people look great when they gain weight, they are rarely complimented by others.

Ferreira left the series after the second season, announcing his departure in an emotional farewell message. “After four years of playing the most special and enigmatic character, Kat, I have to say goodbye with tears in my eyes,” his statement began.
She also noted that she devoted a lot of love and care to the role of the character and hoped that viewers could feel the love through their screens.
At the time, the model didn’t reveal the real reason she was saying goodbye to a character she had played for nearly half a decade, and speculation arose that there were irons in the fire between her and the film’s director, Sam Levinson.
The Blast reported that sources claimed the 29-year-old had attitude issues, saying they believed she and other actors were too confident about their performances. They also shared that Ferreira was the messy type who never cleaned her hairless cat.
The insider claimed she couldn’t care less about the others she shared her trailer with while filming and wouldn’t pick up “piss and trash” from her cats, which posed an inconvenience to others and played a role in her departure from the show.

Ferreira emphasized that she did not want to remain a “background” character but wanted to explore other roles and projects. The ‘House of Spoils’ star also revealed that her decision to leave the show wasn’t made on a whim but after a long process of discussions about Kat’s direction.
“It was kind of the opposite of dramatic,” she said, noting that it stemmed from several “conversations with people and us trying to figure out how to make Kat, like, a fully fleshed out character, and it wasn’t going anywhere.”
The Blast reported in a previous release that Ferreira admitted she would rather be in an independent film where she actively stars than be a background character on a major TV show.
