The passenger said guests waited hours for official instructions after the announcement, with only a handful of crew members helping guests.
They said they only received hotel details at 12:10 a.m. and did not expect to reach their hotel until 1:30 a.m.
A letter to guests, later obtained and published by Disney Cruise Line Blogsaid the sailing could not go ahead as planned and apologized for the disruption.

“We are truly sorry to inform you that we are unable to continue your Disney Adventure experience from May 7-11, 2026 as planned,” the company wrote, adding that “your safety and comfort as guests is always our highest priority.”
The cruise line said affected passengers would receive a full refund, 50% off a future cruise and a free hotel stayas well as coverage for possible flight change fees and up to $500 per cabin for incidentals.
However, the passenger raised concerns about compensation, noting that the 50% discount on future cruises requires booking by July 31, 2026 and sailing by May 31, 2027.
A Disney spokesperson told FOX Business that the future cruise must be booked and depart no later than May 31, 2027. The spokesperson noted that they wanted guests to have more time, so they referenced the new booking window in a subsequent communication to passengers.

The user also questioned whether accommodations were consistent across guests, saying some passengers with back-to-back bookings received multiple free nights while others only received one.
“We arrived at our hotel around 2am and have to check out at noon…it’s not even a full night,” the user wrote.
Other complaints included a food and beverage credit of S$200 (about US$150), which the passenger said barely covered meals for one person, let alone a family of four.
The user said some travelers had come from countries like India, Australia and Canada specifically for the cruise, describing it as “one of the worst” experiences they had with Disney.
“The Disney Adventure departed as planned on its next voyage after the mechanical issue was resolved,” a Disney spokesperson told FOX Business. “We fully understand that this was an unfortunate situation for our guests and have worked directly with them to accommodate their travel needs, help make their return trip as smooth as possible and invite them to return for future sailing.”
