Nourish secures $100 million for metabolic health clinic – MedCity News

Nourish, a metabolic health clinic, announcement On Tuesday, it raised $100 million in Series C funding, which will help grow its clinical network.

Based in New York To feed has more than 10,000 registered dietitians on its platform. It connects patients with chronic illness with a dietitian, whom they meet virtually. They receive a care plan that may include lab tests, prescribing GLP-1, and medication management. Patients also have an AI health agent who helps coordinate care and supports behavior change.

The Series C round was led by Menlo Ventures, with participation from Thrive Capital, Index Ventures, JP Morgan Growth Equity Partners, Maverick Ventures, Y Combinator, BoxGroup, Atomico, Daybreak and Operator Partners. In total, Nourish has raised $215 million.

“Chronic disease is the central failure of health care in the United States: nearly 200 million Americans affected, trillions spent, and outcomes that still aren’t budging. What Nourish has built in four years is remarkable: a care model that truly bends the cost curve, with 10,000 dietitians, deep payer relationships, and clinical outcomes that patients buy into,” said JP Sanday, partner at Menlo Ventures, in a press release. “Most companies succeed at one of these things. Nourish has them all. We’re proud to lead this cycle.”

With this funding, Nourish will expand its clinical network, invest in AI agents and develop its metabolic clinical care model, according to Aidan Dewar, co-founder and CEO of Nourish. It will also deepen partnerships with health plans, health systems, employers and providers.

The funding announcement comes as nearly 200 million Americans struggle with nutrition-related chronic diseases. And about 90% of the country’s $4.9 trillion Annual healthcare spending goes to people with chronic and mental health conditions, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Chronic diseases are the single largest cost driver of health care in the United States, putting increasing pressure on payers and providers to find solutions that actually improve long-term outcomes,” Dewar said. “At the same time, GLP-1s have accelerated the demand for metabolic care, but medications alone are not enough to achieve lasting results. There is growing recognition that lasting behavior and lifestyle change, personalized nutritional support, and longitudinal care must form the foundation of chronic disease treatment.”

Ultimately, Nourish aims to reverse chronic disease at scale, Dewar added.

“This means excellent clinicians and AI working together to provide personalized metabolic care that is accessible, affordable and effective to improve outcomes and reduce costs,” Dewar said. “Long term, we want to achieve the best results at the lowest cost and the best patient experience and make Nourish the default place people turn to for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.

Several other companies also offer metabolic health support, including Virta Health and Fay.
