John Travolta sparked further speculation about plastic surgery after debuting with a youthful appearance at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
Experts believe the actor may have undergone cosmetic procedures, ranging from skin resurfacing to facelifts, although Travolta has not directly responded to the wild rumors.

Rumors about possible cosmetic work around Travolta intensified after the actor appeared at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival with a taut, visibly refreshed and youthful “new face”.
His smoother complexion and more sculpted features quickly sparked speculation online, with many fans wondering if he may have had plastic surgery.
Eric Nietzel, a cosmetic nurse based in New York, joined the conversation by recounting ALL RIGHT! Review the actor may have combined several cosmetic treatments to achieve this look.
According to the expert, procedures such as laser resurfacing, RF microneedling, fillers and even a possible blepharoplasty could explain this transformation.
He also speculated that Travolta might have undergone a subtle face and neck lift, pointing to the actor’s sharper jawline and lifted cheeks as signs of surgical enhancement rather than injectables alone.
Nietzel suggested that additional treatments like Sculptra, Radiesse or fat transfers could have helped maintain the volume and texture of the actor’s face.
He further noted possible dental work, including veneers, as well as what could be hair restoration treatments. “But overall, this guy looks amazing,” he added.
The actor responded to Cannes appearance rumors
Despite ongoing speculation, Travolta has not confirmed having undergone any cosmetic procedures.
Instead, the actor explained that much of the attention came from the unique look he adopted for Cannes.
Talk with CNN on May 18, he said that the white beret and glasses he wore were inspired by classic directors of previous decades.
“I said, ‘I’m a director this time. You’re an actor, you play the role of a director, you look like an old-school director,'” he explained. “So I looked up pictures from the ’20s, ’30s, ’40s, ’50s, ’60s, and the old-school directors were wearing berets and glasses, and I thought, ‘That’s what I do.'”
Travolta added: “I pay homage to being a director, so I’m going to play the role of director.”

The actor was at the festival for the premiere of his directorial project, “Propeller One-Way Night Coach,” alongside his daughter, Ella-Bleu Travolta, who also stars in the film.
During the event, Travolta received an honorary Palme d’Or presented by Cannes director Thierry Frémaux.
“I can’t believe it. This is the last thing I expected,” Travolta said while accepting the honor. “You said it would be a special night, but I didn’t think you meant that.”
The movie star later called the recognition “humbling.”
Reflecting on the moment, Travolta revealed that he became emotional when he first learned that the film had been accepted into the festival’s lineup.
“When you said that not only was it accepted, but it was making history because it would be the first movie ever accepted that early, I cried like a baby because I just couldn’t believe it,” he shared, according to Variety.

Travolta’s project, titled “Propeller One-Way Night Coach,” is based on a 1997 children’s book that Travolta wrote for his son.
