Train your face like you train your body.
If you’ve been on the blog for a while, you probably know by now that Lauryn works her face like she works her body. She likes all forms of facial exercises which can define your facial features. Since she had double jaw surgeryshe invested herself in researching ways to improve facial tone.
One of the facial exercises that has recently gained popularity is meowing. It’s easy to do and doesn’t take very long. Here’s a quick procedure:
+ Close your lips and teeth together
+ Push your tongue upwards so that it is flattened on the roof of your mouth and the tip of your tongue is against your upper teeth.
+ Stay like this for as long as you want or can. That’s it!

Make sure you nourish your body properly before exercising.
When Gary Breck came on the show, one of the things we learned is that exercising on an empty stomach (meaning without eating first) doesn’t actually burn fat. Instead, it eats your muscles. Which is the complete opposite of our goal here. We want to look MORE sculpted, not less.
So, Gary Brecka recommends the 30-30-30 protocol. Within 30 minutes of waking up, you are supposed to consume 30g of protein (or amino acidswhich gives you the same fuel). Next, you should do 30 minutes of low to medium intensity exercise.

Incorporate some cardio into your workout routine.
Aerobic exercise is any type of physical activity that increases your heart rate. So running is not your only option. Dancing, brisk walks, swimming, and HIIT workout videos are great options for getting your heart rate up.
But why is it so important to increase your heart rate? GOOD, a 2023 study of 60 women found that after 12 weeks, participants who participated in an aerobic exercise program experienced a reduction in body fat percentage, total weight, and waist circumference. This particular program also resulted in an increase in lean muscle mass.
Overall weight loss can help slim down your face. But this method is truly most powerful when combined with a balanced diet and resistance training. We will come back to this later.
Balance your cardio with resistance training.
Lauryn is certain that his protein-rich diet and emphasis on resistance training were among the most effective interventions used on her weight loss journey. There are so many the benefits of weightlifting already. But we can make it even more effective.
This study from 2022 tells us that the combination of aerobic exercise and resistance training resulted in the most significant decrease in adipose tissue, aka fat. This is compared to aerobic exercise training and resistance training individually.
So if you want to get the most out of your exercise, mix it up. Work out your face, lift weights and move your body to reduce the roundness of your face.

Eat nutritious foods.

Your goal is to have a balanced, nutrient-rich diet that you can maintain for a long time. If you need a lot of variety in your diet to stay interested, you’ll need to find nutritious, diverse foods to support that variety. Cut out carbs (or at least some of them).
We all love a slice of Berry Fairy Cheesecake here and there. But when you eat an excessive amount of processed, high-carb foods, you risk exacerbating the problem of excess facial fat.
Processed, high-carb foods are called refined carbs, but don’t let that wording fool you. These foods are often deprived of their beneficial nutrients. When you eat them, you’re often consuming nothing but sugar and empty calories. This can help increase fat storage.
You don’t have to cut out all carbs, but replacing some of those refined carbs with whole grains can make a big difference for your face.
Increase your fiber intake.
