Dorit Kemsley Defends ‘My Money, My Rules’ in Reaction to Paul Kemsley’s Claims

Speaking to the media while promoting her memoir “Unburdened: A Memoir,” the reality TV star pointed out that the ongoing public narrative about her spending habits may not truly reflect the full story. Dorit said:
“I can tell you that what was published is not entirely accurate. However, this will now make more headlines because I have to come to grips with reality.”
She also expressed her frustration with how things played out in the US Weekly interview, clarifying that she never wanted things to get this complicated.
Dorit claimed that the amount she decides to spend is irrelevant in any public discourse because it is her own income and is used to support their children.
The reality TV star’s memoir was released on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, and offers a deeper look into her personal life, relationships and life beyond what was captured on “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
The Bravo star claimed she was largely unaware of the financial aspect of their failed marriage

The TV personality continued that during their marriage, Paul was in charge of financial decisions and household expenses, barely carrying her, especially behind the scenes.
Dorit noted that after their marriage fell apart in 2024, she hoped they would have a discussion about how to handle their finances and responsibilities moving forward, but that day never came.
The star added in her interview that the lack of communication between them created unnecessary tension and that these unconfirmed stories somehow shaped how the public perceived everyone involved.
Despite the dynamic between them, Dorit remains confident that they can put the conflict aside and move forward in peace. As for Paul, he has nothing to say other than to wish his ex-wife all the best with the release of her latest memoir.
Dorit Kemsley’s ex-husband sends text messages amid financial dispute

Last month, The Blast shared that Paul accused his ex-wife of involving one of their children in a scheme to get money from him for a spring getaway.
Paul had alleged that text messages were sent through their child, asking him to contribute to expenses related to a vacation Dorit had planned to take with the children.
Paul released recordings of an April conversation, which proved that Dorit had spent heavily on luxury items without paying attention to their mortgage problems.
In one of the text messages, one of the children asked him if he wanted them to have fun over spring break, but Paul was able to deduce that the request seemed framed and he informed the child.
As the conversation continued, Paul asked for clarification on the true reason for the child’s request, to which they reportedly responded by saying their mother was covering the expenses and wondering why their father couldn’t just arrange a vacation.
Paul then asked how they became aware of who was looking after whom, educating the child that planning a trip was more complicated and would fail without proper planning.
Inside the author’s alleged approach to foreclosure

The former couple’s high-end California property has found itself at the center of their ongoing divorce proceedings. The sprawling Encino home featuring six bedrooms, ten bathrooms and nearly 9,000 square feet of living space reportedly became a source of financial tension between Dorit and Paul.
As Paul pushes to sell the property due to his $6 million backlog of unpaid mortgages, Dorit insists she doesn’t know how much debt was owed until it becomes public.
According to reports, the Encino House is now at risk of facing foreclosure issues after missing multiple payment windows on several loans related to the home.
Both Tanka LLC and Private Money Solutions reportedly filed demand letters in January 2026. The companies allegedly provided the former couple with $600,000 and $150,000 in February 2022, with no reported repayments since September 2025.
Meanwhile, another lender, Prime Recon LLC, reportedly issued a second notice of default in December 2025, alleging millions were still unpaid. There are more than $5 million in outstanding balances and more outstanding balances since April 2025, according to court documents.
Dorit Kemsley turned down Paul Kemsley’s generous hosting offer

As reported by The Blast, Paul proposed that Dorit and the children use his house as a temporary residence while their property in Encino continues to experience mortgage problems.
Paul contacted the court to approve the immediate sale of the property, revealing that getting rid of it could still help them make money instead of losing everything to outright foreclosure.
However, Dorit did not find Paul’s gesture noble as she made it clear that living with Paul was the least arrangement she desired. The ex-couple welcomed two children during their marriage.
The reality star’s reaction may now line up with Paul’s earlier claims that Dorit left no room for a civil conversation between them regarding the property and instead resorted to spreading false narratives about him in the media.
