This is the case for June 2026 as Sony announced its latest system software update for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro consoles. Version: 26.04-13.42.00 comes with a simple tweak: improved performance and stability of the system software.
It may not seem like much and it’s not worth getting excited about, but anything that makes our consoles run and perform better is always a win and paves the way for some future releases leading up to the PlayStation 6 launch.
However, when the news of the latest update came to r/PS5users took the opportunity to make fun of the meager update, and which Sony publishes quite regularly.
“My PS5 is so stable I can put my horse on it,” one user joked, while another said: “I can confirm that this stability update has stopped my PS5 from wobbling even without the stand.”
“Guys, my PS5 has become an immobile rod-like entity from DnD,” reads another. “I tried to push it back up to the top of my entertainment center, but it was too stable. I think it became a point of stability for the whole universal constant.”
Look, I said the recent software update was nothing out of the ordinary, but it’s good that users don’t take it too badly and take the situation lightly. After all, any update like this is a good update and one that will make our experience with the PlayStation 5 much smoother.
