Actor Adam Pilote may have made his debut in “Girls,” but he became a household name after playing the role of Kylo Ren/Ben Solo in the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy. Fans were hoping he might return to a galaxy far, far away, especially after revealing that he and director Steven Soderbergh was working on a film called “The Hunt for Ben Solo,” but Disney executives abandoned the project and the famed director revealed that it has since moved on. After starring as Kylo Ren in three “Star Wars” films, Driver has become well known for the intensity he brings to his villainous roles. According to the X account My Time To Shine Hello, Driver was “cast as the villain” in the MCU X-Men reboot.
Apocalyptic Horseman, a former Nexus Point News reporter who has won several successful castings in the past, initially agreed, writing: “I can actually corroborate this. He plays Magneto.”
However, he later took to X to post another tweet saying: “I’m sorry guys. Big mistake on my part but hearing from Adam Driver is grim.”
He went on to say, “Bill Skarsgard is indeed one of a handful of players in the mix for Xavier. They’re aiming for young people. Cooper Hoffman is also in the mix for Cyclops. He’s not the only choice, though.”

When a fan asked, “So, do you have any thoughts on Magneto?” the scooper replied: “I was only saying he was in it because I had heard Driver but if Driver isn’t him then I’m not sure he’s in the movie.”
Unfortunately, not all fans want to see Driver in the new “X-Men” reboot. “Bruh… this all sucks,” one user commented. “Adam didn’t fit Magneto, and he didn’t fit Sinister; they need to bring back Fassbender and McAvoy as Magnus and Xavier.”
“Yeah, that makes more sense. Plus, Driver doesn’t seem like someone who wants a multi-movie deal again, which Magneto would absolutely need. Sinister could be a one-and-done villain,” another follower shared.
“I appreciate the correction; I was convinced they would cast a different actor due to heavy pressure for accurate representation across the board,” a third fan added. “Adam Driver is fantastic, and if you watch him in 65, you can definitely see him playing a scientist-type character.”

Mister Sinister, also known as Dr. Nathaniel Essex, is a geneticist obsessed with engineering the ultimate mutant. He was born in Victorian England and allied himself with Apocalypse, who augmented his body. Sinister’s skills include telepathy, shape-shifting, genius-level intellect, and genetic mastery which he has used to clone or modify mutants like Jean Grey.
Interestingly enough, Apocalypse was played by Oscar Isaac in the 2016 film “X-Men: Apocalypse.” Isaac first starred with Adam Driver in 2013’s “Inside Llewyn Davis.” He then appeared in all three “Star Wars” sequel trilogy films as Resistance pilot Poe Dameron, although he mostly only shared scenes with Driver in 2015’s “The Force Awakens.”
Will Oscar Isaac return to the MCU?
In addition to playing Apocalypse, Isaac also starred as “Moon Knight” in the Disney+ series of the same name. Even though it only lasted one season, many fans were hoping for a second. However, in November 2025, Isaac appeared to be questioning his return to not only Marvel but also “Star Wars”, given his qualms with Disney at the time.
Speaking to GQ to promote “Frankenstein,” the actor said he would be “open” to returning to a galaxy far, far away, although he added, “Although right now I’m not that open to working with Disney.”
He continued: “But if they can kind of understand and, you know, not succumb to fascism, that would be great… if that happens, then yeah, I would be open to having a conversation about a galaxy far far away.”
It remains to be seen whether Driver and Isaac will reunite in future projects, whether in the MCU or in a galaxy far, far away.
