Delta Air Lines flight carried 286 people and was returning to São Paulo International Airport A Air Delta Lines’ Atlanta-bound flight returned to São Paulo, Brazil, shortly after takeoff Sunday evening following an engine problem, according to the airline and local news reports.
Delta Flight 104, operated on an Airbus A330-300, experienced a mechanical problem with its left engine after takeoff Sao Paulo International Airportthe company said.
The plane, carrying 272 passengers and 14 crew members, landed safely and was met by airport fire and rescue teams, Delta said. No injuries were reported.

Delta did not provide additional details on the nature of the mechanical problem or what may have caused it.

Brazilian point of sale G1 reported that a video recorded by a passenger appeared to show a left engine failure seconds after takeoff, although Reuters said it could not independently verify this information.
