Fans can return to Fromville this weekend. Here’s how to watch and a reminder of where things left off.

Warning: this article contains spoilers for season 3 of From. You can catch up on MGM Plus.
Over the course of three mysterious and terrifying seasons, MGM’s popular series From continues to bring unimaginable horrors to its unwitting residents. The town, known to fans as Fromville, has a sick way of teasing hope and taking it away, with characters appearing to escape or kill one of its monsters only to end up back where they were before.
Last season, the town’s sheriff and decision-maker, Boyd Stevens, played by Harold Perrineau, saw one of Fromville’s seemingly dead creatures return with his creepy smile intact.
“I think it broke his brain,” Perrineau told CNET. “I think when we start at the beginning of Season 4, that’s where Boyd is. I think his mind is broken into pieces and he either has to pick up those pieces or just lay down and give up because it’s just unfathomable.”
Perrineau’s Boyd is a source of hope and resilience for the residents of Fromville, but monsters continually torture him, and he revealed in season 3 that he was suffering from worsening Parkinson’s disease while stuck in this nightmarish town. According to Perrineau, Boyd and the other characters we support in From are going to have a “very difficult” fourth season.
“In season 4, the city becomes more present as a character, if that makes sense,” Perrineau said. “You actually recognize, ‘Oh, this town is growing back… and it’s so mean and so ruthless, and it’s doing things that are, I mean, just despicable.’
From a character study
From is the most-watched series in the history of MGM Plus (formerly Epix), according to the network. Perrineau said that while From is billed as a horror series, “I think ultimately it’s more of a character study.”
“It doesn’t surprise me that people find characters that they identify with and say, ‘Oh my God, what would I do if I was in that position?’ If I was Donna, what, would I just go drinking? Perrineau says. “I think that’s what we want from our entertainment, from art and all that kind of stuff.”
Earlier this week, fans learned that From has a confirmed final season, with season 4 as the penultimate. It will end with season 5, which is expected to debut in 2027.
In a joint statement, executive producers John Griffin, Jeff Pinkner and Jack Bender said they “will have the chance to see our story through to the end. Which means the questions will be answered. The answers will be questioned. And there will surely be a cascade of tears and terrors in between.”

What happened in the From season 3 finale?
The season 3 finale of From was awesome. I hesitate to try to recap the episode because I still feel like we can say a few things with certainty about this series. But characters like Fatima, Jade, and Tabitha seemed to piece together some essential parts of an endless, dark puzzle.
In the last episode, we saw the Fromville Smiley Monster again (specifically – and horribly – Fatima gave birth to the creature). Sara caused serious damage to Elgin to get him to divulge information. Additionally, Jade and Tabitha seemed to realize that they had already set foot in Fromville as other people, including Fromville residents Miranda and Christopher. They were both in Fromville at the beginning, when they tried to save their daughter, without success. According to Fatima, the town’s monsters sacrificed their children because they were promised they would live forever.
Am I misunderstanding or forgetting key details? Probably. For example, Julie is a “story walker,” which will likely play a role in future events. But the most fun is at least trying to decipher the mystery of From.
I asked Perrineau what he could tease about the Man in Yellow, who appeared at the end of Season 3 and shockingly ripped out the throat of a major character, Jim. He cryptically stated that Man in Yellow was “the most unexpected character you’ll see all year.”
