It’s been just over a month since NBN Co confirmed it would increase wholesale prices across its entire range of plans at the turn of the new financial year – which starts on July 1 – and that means your NBN plan will likely take an unwanted hike as a result.
In fact, I’ve already spotted a few providers revealing that the price of certain plans will actually increase from July 1st. Superloop has announced that all plans except its NBN 100, NBN 500 and NBN 750 options will increase by up to AU$6 per month. Aussie Broadband is following suit, with some plans increasing by up to AU$4 per month.
To put it simply, there’s a very good chance that the price of your current NBN plan will also increase when your first billing cycle comes due after July. The best way to avoid any changes (at least for the next six months) is to transfer your NBN plan to a new provider offering an introductory discount.
Coincidentally, now is a great time to look for an NBN bargain, with June’s EOFY sales revealing plenty of deals from a wide range of Internet Service Providers (ISPs), including discounts totaling AU$240 and some that last for a full 12 months. You’ll have to hurry to take advantage of them, though, as many of these deals expire at the end of the month. If you need some information, below are my current top plan picks.
