Owners of 2020-2024 Kia Telluride vehicles are advised to park outside due to a fire hazard. Kia issues a new reminder of more than 460,000 vehicles due to a fire risk after an earlier recall affecting the same vehicles failed to resolve the problem, according to federal regulators.
The recall affects 462,869 Kia Telluride vehicles from model years 2020 through 2024, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced Thursday.
Owners are asked to park outside and away other cars and buildings due to the risk of fire while driving or parking.

THE same vehicles had already been recalled in 2024 for the same problem.
If the front power seat slide cover or button is bumped or accidentally knocked, the switch may become dislodged, misaligned, or damaged, causing the seat motor to continue to operate and cause overheating.

Notification letters to owners will be sent on August 13.
Owners can then take their vehicle to a Kia dealership, where a set of electronic fuses will be installed to prevent continued operation of the seat motor if the seat switch is dislodged, internally misaligned, or otherwise damaged.
