Jamil, who has long spoken out against rigid beauty standards imposed on women and is known for her wholehearted activism, took to her Instagram page to launch a passionate rant on the issue.

She described their appearance as “frighteningly thin”, adding that it was a “particularly fragile type of thinness”, and she is unhappy with this “beauty standard imposed on everyone”.

The actress added: “I’m unhappy with my industry’s obedience and I’m afraid of the impact on impressionable people at home, thinking that’s the only way to be accepted.”

“Now is not the time to be fragile. Women must be strong, fighting for our dwindling rights and security,” Jamil also remarked.

“If we all collectively refused to starve, they would have to comply with us,” Jamil noted.

“But we are rushing to bend first, at all costs for our mental and physical health, and that of the next generation watching us. Whatever size you want, but please try to be as strong as possible physically. Please be hard to steal, hard to beat, hard to break,” Jamil also remarked.

Expanding on his argument, Jamil stressed that “the war against women requires female fighters,” and warned that it would harm their ability to be protected if they were “easy to transport, to hunt, to beat.”

In the months after Emma Stone started looking noticeably thinner, rumors of plastic surgery continued to circulate.

However, since Stone hasn’t confirmed any procedures, it seems more likely that she didn’t have any work done, especially since she previously shared that genetics and stress made it difficult for her to gain weight.
