Adam DeVine is not Adam Levine, so please leave him out of it

Adam DeVine would very much like to be left out of the account of Adam Levine's cheating allegations. Mainly because he has nothing to do with it other than having a similar name to the singer of Maroon 5.

Levine has been accused of being unfaithful to his pregnant wife, Behati Prinsloo, leading to the Maroon 5 singer becoming a hot topic on the internet. Unfortunately for DeVine, an actor and comedian you might recognize from movies like "Pitch Perfect," sloppy Google searches and hasty glances at tabloid headlines led him to be mistaken for a man who has a very similar name.

Apparently, the misdirected backlash got so out of hand that DeVine had to make his own statement on Instagram, clearing his identity once and for all. "I just wanna post this and say my wife @chloebridges and I are doing great and we're doing great. I'm not Adam Levine. He's a different guy and a lesser singer," he joked. Friday.

"We are naming our future baby Sumner though," he wrote, referring to 23-year-old Instagram model Sumner Stroh at the forefront of cheating allegations, who claimed Levine asked to give his name to his unborn child. For his part, Levine denied the cheating allegations, but he said he "crossed the line" in a statement posted to his Instagram story.

One thing everyone can be sure of is that DeVine has no role in this drama. As the situation continues to unfold for Levine, DeVine will stay out of it. . . or at least just look aside like the rest of us.
