Adut Akech's version of Utopia features "kindness, drug energy and good humor"

The idea of a summer getaway never gets old, providing respite from the heat and allowing us (finally) to turn off those Slack pings and tune out. But what about a brief escape from reality? As we look forward to hitting the dance floor with Beyoncé's new album, Renaissance, Queen Bee beckons us with a new Adidas x Ivy Park collection, aptly titled IVYTOPIA. Think of it as a respite from the everyday, a chance to disconnect from the realities around us and immerse ourselves in our own personal nirvana. Sound tempting? We think so too.

In fact, the collection is one of Bey's largest to date, featuring activewear, footwear and accessories for men, women and kids. This go-around, there are also serious doses of capital F fashion in the form of a reversible crystal bomber jacket and flowing trench coats. A huge range of sizes and colors promises to let everyone have fun; cool khakis and ivory mesh with bold yellows and blues, and a piercing metallic silver delivers some serious star power. Rounding it all off, a floral print injects seductive doses of femininity throughout the collection, inspiring the desire to travel to a botanical place.

The corresponding campaign for the collection features models Adut Akech, Irina Shayk and Joan Smalls in an empty studio, a blank canvas for the mind to wander and travel. The clothes are inspirational enough and make a bold statement against such an austere background. Akech herself is no stranger to the camera, and a model's life is one of constant plane travel, makeup changes, and always being turned on. This fast-paced lifestyle requires the occasional escape, so inspired by IVYTOPIA, we found out what soothes Akech, where she goes to get away from it all, and her favorite pieces from the collection.

What's your favorite getaway?

It depends on why I need to escape and where I feel I need to escape. But where I sometimes go to escape is my diary. My diary, my notes or my rants at my therapist. I also take walks outside. I'm going to work out or do pilates or something; it's like an escape for me.

When do you usually feel the need to get away?

Most of the time, and I feel like everyone does it at some point in the day. I feel like you have to get away for at least 10 minutes because life is hectic, and that's a lot. It becomes a lot, being around different energies, different people, different environments every day – that's a lot for me personally. At least once a day, I enter my little world and come back to it.
