Nicki Minaj just released the new video for 'Super Freaky Girl'. Directed by Joseph Kahn (who has also directed videos for Taylor Swift, among others), it features Minaj flirting at home with "Vikings" actor and "The Hunger Games" alum Alexander Ludwig and walking past neighbors in the Barbie doll before burning her house in pink flames.

"Super Freaky Girl" marked Minaj's first solo release in three years. The track, released Aug. 12, uses a snippet from Rick James' "Super Freak" to pay homage to the 1981 hit. "He wants a F-R-E-A-K (weird girl) / F-R-E-A-K (weird girl)," Minaj raps in the hook.

Minaj has previously released singles like "We Go Up" with Fivio Foreign and "Do We Have a Problem?" with Lil Baby this year, but it's still unclear when his new album will arrive. However, the rapper had previously announced that she would soon be airing a self-titled six-part documentary series about her life and career, although the Bron Studios-produced project has yet to find a network.

Minaj returned to the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 28, alongside other artists like Anitta, J Balvin, Panic! at Disco, Marshmello and Khalid. The 17-time nominee and five-time winner received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. "Nicki broke down barriers for women in hip-hop with her versatility and creative flair," Bruce Gillmer - Paramount's president of music, musical talent, programming and events - said in a statement. Press release. "She changed the music industry and cemented her status as a global superstar with her crossover appeal, genre-defying style and continues to be unapologetically 'Nicki'."
