Amber Heard officially appeals the verdict in her defamation case with Johnny Depp.

Amber's attorneys filed the necessary paperwork Thursday in Fairfax County, Va., to appeal the $10.3 million judgment a jury ordered her last month to pay her ex. husband.

The jury also decided that Johnny should pay Amber $2 million. She therefore owes him $8.3 million in damages, but she had sworn since the day of the verdict that she would appeal.

As we reported, Amber also filed a motion for a new trial, as one of the jurors in the case came to court when it was actually her father who received the summons from the jury. However, the judge denied this request.

Johnny doesn't seem worried that Amber has appealed the verdict. Her representative told TMZ … "The jury listened to the extensive evidence presented during the six-week trial and reached a clear and unanimous verdict that the defendant herself defamed Mr. Depp on multiple occasions. We we remain confident in our case and that this verdict will stand."

Daily Mail first reported Amber's call.
