Angela Rayner has accused Tories under Liz Truss of being 'unethical' amid questions over her No. 10 chief of staff appointment.

It comes after the Prime Minister announced that Mark Fullbrook has promised his company will lead the Tories' next election campaign if he joins his No 10 team.

A #10 source declined to comment on this claim, and the prime minister's official spokesperson said, "Decisions on the conduct of any party's election campaigns would not be for me."

Representatives for Mr. Fullbrook have been contacted to comment on the complaint.

But the deputy Labor leader said the Tories are "already sowing the seeds of a dirty election campaign".

She added: "This is not only an inappropriate appointment at the heart of Downing Street, but it raises serious questions about what sensitive and privileged information this loaned lobbyist will have access to at the heart of government.

"The Tories under Liz Truss are unethical. A Labor government will clean up politics with an independent ethics and integrity commission to restore standards in public life".

Over the weekend, it also emerged that Mr Fullbrook received his salary through his lobbying firm rather directly as government staff.

Instead, his salaries are paid by Fullbrook Solutions, a lobbying firm he set up in April but which has since suspended business operations.
