Arsenal linked with Cristiano Ronaldo

Arsenal are interested in signing former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo in the January transfer window, according to Rudy Galetti. The well-known and respected journalist reported on his website that Arsenal are planning to make a move for the Portugal international striker after the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Ronaldo was a free agent when his contract at Manchester United was terminated by mutual consent. This followed an explosive interview with the former Juventus and Real Madrid star in which he criticized United head coach Erik ten Hag as well as the club's owners.

Arsenal are currently five points clear of second-placed and defending champions Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. Gabriel Jesus is the Gunners' main striker, but he suffered an injury with Brazil at the Qatar World Cup and could be out for three months.
