Opening batter Warner hit 57 as the hosts chased comfortably 130 to win on day four in Sydney.

An emotional Warner received a guard of honor from Pakistan and added 119 for the second wicket with Marnus Labuschagne, who shot an undefeated 62.

"I would like to be remembered as exciting and entertaining," Warner said, 37 years old.

"I hope I made everyone smile with the way I played and I hope that young children will be able to follow in my footsteps.

"This team is energetic, they are world class and they are a formidable group."

Earlier, Pakistan were competing on just 115 after starting the morning with 67-7, seamer Josh Hazlewood finished with 4-16.

Usman Khawaja fell for a duck in the first over, but Warner and Labuschagne comfortably negotiated the chase on a wearing pitch before the former went toe-to-toe against spinner Sajid Khan with Australia 11 runs short of their target.
