Avatar: The Waterway a received mixed reviews from critics, with ratings varying wildly between one star and five stars.

Although some said it was "dazzling ", others have described it as a "soggy, twee, trillion dollar screensaver".

The Way of Water is the sequel to 2009's Avatar, which remains the highest-grossing film of all time.

Director James Cameron has suggested the sequel should become the fourth highest-grossing film important of all time just to break even.

In The Way of Water, viewers are transported to the planet Pandora, where the existence of the Na'vi people is once again threatened.

In a one-star review, Robbie Collin of the Telegraph suggested watching The Film "a the impression of being covered in turquoise cement".
