A nail clipper was pulled from an eight-month-old boy's throat after he accidentally swallowed it.

Shocking photos show scores of doctors desperately trying to remove clippers on Monday, September 19, in Nashik district, western India.

The small child swallowed a 5cm nail clipper while playing and was immediately rushed to hospital as soon as his parents noticed.

The child was operated on at Dr. Vasantrao Pawar Medical College in Adgaon.

X-rays show the 5cm long nail clipper stuck in the boy's throat, blocking most of his throat.

Doctors removed the object within an hour of surgery, and the child is now recovering after the procedure.
