Bad Birdie will unveil its first full women's golf collection

It's no exaggeration to say that Bad Birdie is a bit irreverent - the slogan of his new women's golf collection is: “Women's golf wear sucks. Bad Birdie changed that."

The Scottsdale, Arizona-based brand was launched six years ago with the goal of disrupt the men's golf market. . Its loud and colorful designs quickly caught on with green shops as well as big-box sporting goods retailers looking for a more contemporary alternative to the conservative big name golf brands.

And now Bad Birdie is turning its attention to women. This week, the brand will launch its first-ever women's capsule collection, a massive 41-piece collection that, according to Chief Designer Allison Lippincott, "will disrupt the market for women's golf apparel".

The line includes two-tone Caddy rompers and Links faux tops, as well as Double Down skorts , Hybrid dresses, tunics and crop tops and Range shorts. Quarter zips, biker shorts and polo shirts are also in the game. Prices include $64 for the biker shorts and $110 for the hybrid dress.

Like its men's collection, the women's line features bold patterns and colors that also feature performance characteristics such as four stretch properties, moisture wicking and wrinkle resistance. But silhouettes and prints are meant to make a statement.

"This launch marks a new chapter for Bad Birdie," said Jason Richardson, Founder and CEO. "We are a golf brand that celebrates all golfers by advancing the sport through inclusivity, bold creativity and good times."

Preston McFarland, brand marketing manager, said that if Bad Birdie offered parts for women in the past, this is her first complete collection.

According to the National Golf Foundation, more than a third of the American population has played for more than 5 years golf last year and the number of female golfers reached 6.4 million in 2022, a 14% increase from 2019. This figure marks the third year in a row that more than 6 million women have played the sport, women now represent 25% of over-golfers on the course. Women represent a disproportionately higher percentage of beginners, 41%, as well as non-course participants, 41%. Off-course participation includes driving ranges, indoor golf simulators and entertainment venues such as Topgolf.
