Bally teams up with Adrien Brody for capsule collections

MILAN — Adrien Brody made a splash at Bally's fall show in Milan last month dressed in a forest green suit – but his presence wasn't just as a guest. On Monday, the Swiss luxury brand will unveil a collaboration with the Oscar-winning actor and artist.

For the first time, Brody will debut as a designer to create a series of capsule collections for Bally.

Capsules will include ready-to-wear, shoes, bags and other accessories all designed by Brody with support from Bally's creative studio to celebrate his love for travel, inspired by a lifetime of travels around the world.

Nicolas Girotto, CEO of Bally, said: "Since the turn of the 20th century, the brand teamed up with the world's greatest creative talents, from illustrators to architects, musicians to artists" and highlighted Brody's "unique style and creative vision". Expressing his admiration for "work on screen and in studio" from Brody, he said he was "thrilled to see his interpretation of Bally's artistic heritage through his unique, multicultural and sophisticated lens".

Capsule collections will be available later this year on bally.com and select Bally stores and multi-brand retailers worldwide.

"As an artist, I'm extremely excited to explore a new form creative expression," Brody said. "I am honored to partner with Bally in this special collaboration, allowing me to channel my creative energy in new ways. In my work, I have spent my life on the road, living new lives in unusual places. Travel and exploration has been a constant theme and great inspiration to me personally and will guide the narrative as I create capsules that capture and distill the beauty of a journey.

Brody was the youngest actor to win a Best Actor Oscar for Roman's 'The Pianist' Polanski turned 29 in 2003 and is known for his performances in films ranging from Wes Anderson's "The Darjeeling Limited" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel" to Luca Changretta in the fourth seasons of the BBC series "Peaky Blinders". p>

More recently, he played Arthur Miller in the Marilyn Monroe biopic "Blonde". He is also an accomplished painter and comes from a family of artists as his mother, Sylvia Plachy, is an acclaimed photographer whose work has been celebrated worldwide by museums and in numerous published books and works.

Brody is no stranger to fashion, having appeared in Ermenegildo's campaigns Zegna earlier this year as his career was in full swing, he posed for Prada's epic fall 2012 show and he also wore Dior and Dolce & Gabbana on the red carpet - not to mention he dating Marchesa fashion designer Georgina Chapman.
