Banijay unveils an ecological stand for Mipcom (EXCLUSIVE)
Banijay unveils an eco-responsible stand ahead of the Mipcom 2022 market in Cannes.
Situated in a prime location opposite the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, the two-storey structure - a reusable wooden construction - includes more than 500m2 of floor space including meeting rooms, reception space, several terraces and reception areas.
Created by Romain Larue d'Orati and designed by architect Nicola Spinetto, the construction uses wood cross-laminated - a technology known for its strength, versatility and durability.
The construction will optimize the luminosity of its central patio and its terraces and will accommodate the 250+ Mipcoms of Banijay team.
All panels were flat packed with minimal trucks required to transport the build. To complement the eco-theme, the stand will feature plants sourced from a local nursery, program catalogs and merchandise for customers are recyclable, and after the market the stand will be stored less than 50km from Cannes.
Banijay will have an expanded market presence at Mipcom, after a three-year hiatus. Highlights from the company's fall slate include 'Starstruck', 'Blow Up', 'Love Triangle', 'Le Plus Grand Karaoke de France' and 'MasterChef: Young Talent' and scripted titles from Banijay Rights: "Marie Antoinette", "Rogue Heroes", "Bali 2002" and "Serial Lover".
Cathy Payne, CEO of Banijay Rights, Banijay's global distribution arm, said: "This It has been three years since Banijay has exhibited at Mipcom and our first major market since acquiring Endemol Shine, so we felt it was important to present ourselves in a highly visible way.This revolutionary and eco-friendly project truly represents the Banijay's commitment to sustainability, furthering our mission to reduce our carbon footprint and overall impact on the environment.
"This is the perfect engine room for our oversized team arriving at Mipcom 2022 as the one of the largest producers and distributors of television content,” Payne added.
Mipcom takes place October 17-20.
