DRESSING FOR THE OCCASION: Fashion is often the draw of benefit events, and a few to come match that charge to a tee.

A Carolina Herrera fashion show will be part of the Breast Cancer Alliance's annual luncheon program on Thursday. Creative director Wes Gordon will be in the crowd when his spring collection is presented in partnership with specialty retailer Richards in Greenwich, Connecticut. Models featured on the catwalk will feature women and men who have undergone medical treatment or are living with metastatic breast cancer.

Seven hundred and fifty guests are expected to attend the sold-out event in Rye, New York, which is is expected to raise over $1 million for breast cancer research. To date, the organization has awarded over $32 million in grants. Fashion designer Ann Caruso and four-time Olympic medalist Chaunté Lowe, both breast cancer survivors, will be the guest speakers. Attendees will also have the opportunity to shop Herrera spring styles at a trunk show in Richards on Thursday and Friday.

Housing Works' annual Fashion for Action fundraiser will be a multi-day, multi-platform event beginning on November, 1st. 9. Around 200 attendees are expected and actress Patricia Clarkson and Paper magazine editor Mickey Boardman will host the VIP gathering. The co-chairs are photographer Nigel Barker, Laura Brown, Bethann Hardison and Cameron Silver. Proceeds from Fashion for Action support Housing Works' ongoing advocacy and integrated services to address HIV, AIDS and homelessness.

Boardman, Silver and others, such as actress Lorraine Bracco, musician Joan Jett, the fashion designers Timo Weiland and Betsey Johnson and model Christie Brinkley offer selections. This year, they'll be serving up "Flashback"-themed assortments inspired by their favorite fashion moments so that different decades are well represented. Jett will offer lace-up leather pants with a leather bustier cut and Logan Horne is donating a Givenchy parka, Jimmy Choo sneakers, Jimmy Choo x Off-White jewelry, Lanvin high tops and Louis Vuitton shorts, according to a Housing Works spokesperson. Following the opening night festivities, the sale will run from November 10-12 so the public can shop in person or online.
