Betsey Johnson partners with Miley Cyrus' Happy Hippie Foundation

Betsey Johnson has entered into a one-year partnership with the nonprofit Happy Hippie Foundation founded by Miley Cyrus, in time for Mental Health Awareness Month. The partnership aims to support LGBTQ youth.

Johnson will donate $1 to Happy Hippie for every purchase of his bestselling floral rhinestone collection through ShoppingGives. Customers who wish to purchase products outside of the selected assortment will also be asked to donate at checkout.

Johnson's connection to Cyrus dates back to 2008 when the singer/actress wore Betsey Johnson in Season 3 from "Hannah Montana." After that, Cyrus attended a prom, where she and her date wore Betsey Johnson dresses.

Sixty percent of LGBTQ youth who wanted mental health care in the past year n haven't been able to get them, and 45% of LGBTQ youth have seriously considered suicide in the past year, according to the foundation. The Happy Hippie Foundation provides LGBTQ youth, homeless youth and other vulnerable populations with consistent support services, education and employment opportunities.
