Joe Biden has arrived in the UK for Russian invasion talks with Rishi Sunak ahead of a NATO summit where he is expected to be challenged over his decision to send cluster bombs in Ukraine.

Air Force One landed at London Stansted on Sunday evening during the US President's stopover on the way to the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.

After landing At around 9.45pm on Sunday, Mr Biden boarded a helicopter for the US Ambassador at the UK residence Winfield House in central London.

The US President will first meet the Prime Minister at Downing Street on Monday morning before meeting the King and although it is not a state visit, Mr Biden will be treated to a ceremonial display at Windsor Castle.

It comes after Mr Sunak previously responded to the decision to send cluster munitions to Ukraine by saying Britain was "discouraging" their use.< /p>

The UK is one of 123 signatories of a bomb ban convention, but No 10 would not say whether the prime minister will raise the issue.

However, the US president is likely to face questions from allies at the summit on why for which it sends cluster munitions to Kiev when two-thirds of NATO members have signed the Convention on Cluster Munitions.

It prohibits the use, storage or transfer of munitions, which deploy large numbers of bomblets over a wide area, because of the continued danger they pose to civilians.

Defending the move, Mr Biden sought to justify the bombs as needed to fortify Ukraine's depleting ammunition stockpiles after receiving assurances of their use from Kyiv.

The summit will focus on Ukraine and its attempt to join the defense alliance.

Although all allies agree that Ukraine cannot join during the war, a decision that would draw many of the West into direct conflict with Russia, the United States United are seen as the most hesitant about joining.

Mr. Biden called kyiv's candidacy "premature." Britain, on the other hand, has indicated its support for a fast-track approach for Ukraine.
