'A bit of a cheek' for migrants to complain about conditions in overcrowded Manston, says Minister OLD

A Home Secretary has been called 'insensitive' after saying it was 'a bit impertinent' for migrants to complain about conditions at the overcrowded Manston processing center in Kent.< /p>

Chris Philp was speaking as a rushed operation continued to reduce the number of people held at the center, where 4,000 people were crammed for a month into a facility meant to house 1,600 for 48 hours maxed out during initial assessments.

Manston has been described as a "pressure cooker", with individuals and families sleeping in tents amid reports of outbreaks and simmering tensions.
