If it's one thing, the developers who built these apartments at least made good use of the space.

Built right in the middle of a small roundabout, this development looks like an eerie picture to approaching drivers.

The Waunllwyd apartments sit in a square (or possibly a circle) in the center of the junction on a road in Penywaun, Wales, housing up to nine families.

Away from your usual roundabout with few trees or billboards, the apartments can be accessed from four different paths at street level - once you navigate the surrounding traffic.

A resident, named Chelsea, said living in the flats was sometimes "difficult work", especially when she had to dodge the onslaught of traffic to take her young daughter to school.

"It's a bit strange. I've lived here for two years and you're getting used to it," the resident told WalesOnline.

Only two of the nine apartments have direct access, while the others are only accessible from inside a hall.

And without curbside parking, residents must also leave their cars on the other side of the surrounding road.

But being a roundabout, the ditch-like road has no pedestrian crossings, which means...
