Boris Johnson 'could earn over £3m a year' from book deals and speeches

Boris Johnson could earn more than £3m a year from book deals and speeches after stepping down as Prime Minister, an industry expert has estimated.

Mr Johnson's memoir alone is expected to fetch him around £1m, according to Giles Edwards, author of The Ex Men, about former world leaders.< /p>

The Prime Minister's predecessors, including Theresa May, Tony Blair and David Cameron, made their fortunes from book deals and speaking at events, the most lucrative of which were at the foreigner.

He is said to have won up to £300,000 for an after-dinner speech, while Mr Cameron Reportedly paid £120,000 for just an hour-long speech.

Theresa May, who like Mr Johnson was in the job for three years, earned around £2.1m ions of pounds since leaving the top job in 2019.
