Boris Johnson in Ukraine to tell Zelensky he 'can and will win the war'

Boris Johnson told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he will 'win' the war against Russia as he makes another surprise visit to Kyiv to mark the country's Independence Day.

The acting prime minister has announced a new support package £54million British loan to Ukraine to help repel Russian forces, including surveillance and unmanned missile systems.

Posting a photo of him with Zelensky on his third trip in the capital, Johnson said, "What happens in Ukraine affects us all."

He added, "That's why I'm here today to deliver the message that the United United is with you and will be with you for the days and months to come, and that you can and will win."

The Prime Minister also said soaring energy bills were a pain British households must 'endure' to support Ukraine. "If we pay in our energy bills for Vladimir Putin's ills, the Ukrainian people pay in their blood," he said.

Johnson received Ukraine's highest honor given to nationals Aliens - the Order of Liberty - for the unwavering support of the United Kingdom since the invasion by Vladimir Putin's forces in February.
