"Boris Johnson is a lying tornado who creates his own distorted reality"

MPs on a Tory-majority Privileges Committee, the wider Conservative Tribe of Westminster and Rishi Sunak all know the truth about the former Prime Minister in disgrace, writes Kevin Maguire

Liar, liar, Boris Johnson's pants will always be on fire.

History will remember the wrath of baby Trump in Britain as an asshole, a doomed manufacturer.

Yet Partygate porkies aren't even the worst cheats.

Brexit headlines as the massive £100billion-plus cost is real-world ruin, a far cry from the £350million-a-week ghost of perjury.

There will not be 40 new hospitals promised in the last general election.

Withholding a parliamentary club card for cheap drinks is a slap on the wrist for a coward who escapes a 90-day suspension.

But it is the judgment of his peers that will really hurt Johnson.

Presenting himself ridiculously as Saint Boris the Martyr, a prophet sacrificed by barbarians, is a continuation of his delusion. The "Free the Bullingdon One" campaign will be a resounding failure.

Because MPs on a Conservative-majority Privileges Committee, the wider Conservative Tribe of Westminster and Rishi Sunak all know the truth.

And it's not just that Johnson lied about the No10 lockdown rule-breaking parties, although he did so in spades.

It's that Johnson is a born liar, a lying tornado who uses what one Trump aide called "alternative facts" to create his own distorted reality.

Many of the same Tory MPs who lived a mile away from Johnson now knew they were making a cynical deal with the devil by appointing him leader and prime minister.

So it's not just about a man while the damage is enormous, even permanent.

All of Johnson's accomplices - Sunak included - deserve to be paid for their work on Judgment Day at the ballot box.
